For almost a year I was in Oxford running The Varsity Club, a four-storey restaurant, club and cocktail bar with stunning views of the city from a spectacular roof top terrace. Before that I spent nine years in Bath hosting spirit tastings and running cocktail bars.
The menu is a real reflection of the Devonian attitude to drinking; lots of rum, really fresh ingredients, quick to make, un-pretentious and fun. We’ve got fruity twists on classics, herbaceous Prosecco tipples and proper summer sippers – perfect for every occasion.
I adore being by the water and you can’t get much closer than The Bar & Grill! Being able to sip cocktails and eat amazing food watching the tide come in is hard to beat, and then the live music starts and the party continues way into the night – so there’s something for everyone.
I love walking around the beautiful headlands and beaches in Salcombe. After all the amazing cream teas at The Winking Prawn, the best way to work it off is a good jog to Starehole Bay along the cliffs. It’s a stunning place to be, especially in the summer. I feel blessed to be back here after 10 years away!
