What did you do before joining The Cracking Crab?
Before The Cracking Crab I was head chef of No1 Rock Road in Rock for four years (so not to far from here!). I have worked in pretty much all areas of the hospitality trade from hotels to pubs and Michelin Star restaurants.
What's your favourite thing on the menu and why?
My favourite thing on the menu is the Dover sole. It is simply grilled with tartar sauce, so you just enjoy the beautiful flavours of a fantastic fish. I also love the fresh local lobster and crab that arrive at the restaurant daily – beautiful and fresh from Cornwall in a shell!
What's your favourite thing about living and working in Polzeath?
I have lived in the area on and off for about 12 years, so I have a lot of friends and my family are just across the water in Padstow. You can't beat the views across the bay in Polzy, and also I like to surf when I get the chance!
What's your favourite thing about working at The Cracking Crab?
We have a great team that work hard and really care about what we do. I love the manic services where everything is cooked to order and it is a great feeling to finish a busy shift and have lots of people leave happy… and again, the view!
What do you recommend doing as a visitor to Polzeath?
Surf and eat at The Crab!!!
